Welcome Kerr Tigers! I have taught art in Alief ISD for over a decade and teach a variety of studio art courses including Art I, Drawing, Painting, Photography, Digital Art, and AP Art. I serve as the Secondary Fine Art Lead for Alief ISD and as Kerr’s National Art Honor Society sponsor. I am also an active member of the Texas Art Education Association, the National Art Education Association, and serve as a Juror for the Visual Arts Scholastic Event and as an ARTEFFECT Ambassador for the Lowell Milken Center for Unsung Heroes. Students under my guidance have been recognized at the regional, state, and national levels in art competitions and have received college scholarships through their accomplishments in art.
Throughout the creative process, students are challenged to develop multiple solutions to problems and to utilize art as a vehicle to initiate change and inspire others. As quoted by Edgar Degas, “Art is not what you see, but what you make others see”.
